The group, accompanied by a representative of the Judicial Academy, visited the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic on 27 May 2025. The annual exchange visits aim to introduce judges and prosecutors from selected European Union countries to the legal system of the Slovak Republic.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The informal discussion between the Vice-President of the local court, Marian Tren\u010dan, and Judge Zuzana \u0160abov\u00e1 and the nine-member delegation began with an introduction to the administrative justice system in Slovakia. Judges and prosecutors from Spain, Croatia, Sweden, France, Germany and Portugal shared their experiences with the work of administrative courts in their countries. &#8220;The Supreme Administrative Court has been trying for a long time to deal with a number of pending cases from the past years. As a result, their number is gradually decreasing. Justice is only effective if it is also quick,&#8221; explained Mari\u00e1n Tren\u010dan, the Vice-President of the Supreme Administrative Court.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Judges and prosecutors from European countries were interested in the reasons for the establishment of the Supreme Administrative Court, the composition of its panels, as well as the duration of discussions on individual cases in the panels before the decision.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Each country is specific and therefore the majority agenda dealt with by the administrative courts varies. The discussion revealed that in recent years the courts have been dealing with a greater number of asylum cases, particularly in Germany, where there has been an increase in the specialisation of judges in specific countries of origin of asylum seekers.
