A delegation of representatives of the judiciary and the public and private sectors from the Kingdom of Thailand visited the Supreme Administrative Court on 10 October 2025. The delegation was led by the President of the AJSE Programme Committee, former President of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Kingdom of Thailand, Professor Dr. Charnchai Sawangsagdi. The delegation was received by the Vice-President of the Supreme Administrative Court, Mari\u00e1n Tren\u010dan, and judges Peter Pot\u00e1sch and Michal Matuln\u00edk.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the beginning of the meeting, the Vice-President of the Supreme Administrative Court, Mari\u00e1n Tren\u010dan, presented the structure of the local court, its main agenda and the broad scope of decision-making activities. He particularly focused on the composition and powers of the individual panels of the Supreme Administrative Court and also mentioned the quantitative scope of decision-making since the establishment of the court.<\/p>\n

Judge Peter Pot\u00e1sch then briefed the participants on the judicial reform, which included the establishment of the Supreme Administrative Court. He discussed in more detail the structure of administrative justice in Slovakia and the details of the administrative trial process.<\/p>\n

The participants were surprised by the information about the electronic allocation of court files. They were interested in the way the panels of the local court decide, how closed and public sessions are conducted, but they also asked about disciplinary proceedings and sanctions imposed on judges in these proceedings.<\/p>\n

Since Judge Pot\u00e1sch became familiar with the judicial system there during a working visit organized by the International Association of Supreme Administrative Courts at the Supreme Administrative Court of the Kingdom of Thailand at the end of last year, he was able to draw attention to the differences in administrative justice in both countries.<\/p>\n

Finally, Judge Michal Matuln\u00edk primarily answered the guests’ questions regarding the binding nature and enforceability of decisions of the Supreme Administrative Court and also provided information about the powers of administrative courts in proceedings against the inaction of public administration bodies.<\/p>\n

In conclusion, the participants of the Thai delegation appreciated the importance of the meeting and the many inspirations and suggestions they gained from visiting both the Slovak and Czech Supreme Administrative Courts.<\/p>\n
