{"id":69378,"date":"2025-11-20T08:22:41","date_gmt":"2025-11-20T07:22:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nssud.sk\/?p=69378"},"modified":"2026-03-30T14:04:37","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T12:04:37","slug":"experts-from-v4-countries-discuss-the-role-of-courts-in-environmental-protection-in-budapest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nssud.sk\/en\/experts-from-v4-countries-discuss-the-role-of-courts-in-environmental-protection-in-budapest\/","title":{"rendered":"Experts from V4 Countries discuss the role of Courts in environmental protection in Budapest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Judge of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak republic Juraj Va\u010dok participated in the conference &#8220;Responsibility for Environmental Protection&#8221; in Budapest on November 6-7, 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The conference focused on environmental liability from a legal perspective \u2013 from the constitutional role of the state in environmental protection to civil liability and compensation for environmental damage, the creation and enforcement of administrative measures, as well as the investigation, prosecution and adjudication of environmental crimes. The conference brought together more than 40 participants from the Visegrad Four countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia), including representatives of academia, judges, prosecutors and public administration employees.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Individual panels provided presentations and discussions aimed at familiarization with the legal frameworks and identifying good practices used in individual countries. The conference was organized by the Central European Academy in Budapest and the Faculty of Law of Comenius University in Bratislava, with the partners being the Faculty of Law of the University of Miskolc, the Central European Association for Comparative Law and the European Organization for Public Law. The conference was sponsored by the Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Law, indexed by the Scopus database.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Professor Juraj Va\u010dok led a discussion panel on the topic &#8220;Judicial review of administrative decisions in the field of the environment in the Visegrad countries&#8221;. The speakers in this panel were mainly judges from individual V4 countries. At the beginning, Professor Juraj Va\u010dok summarized the common and different features of legal regulations in individual countries.
