A visit by judges and prosecutors from Italy, Belgium, and Romania, as part of an exchange program organized by the Judicial Academy of the Slovak Republic in cooperation with the European Judicial Training Network (EJTN), took place at the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic on May 28th<\/sup>, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mari\u00e1n Tren\u010dan, the Vice-President of the Supreme Administrative Court, judge Michal Dzurdz\u00edk, and judicial assistant Veronika Valekov\u00e1 first briefed the 12 judges and prosecutors on basic information about the court and its Chancellery\u2014from its inception to the present\u2014including summary statistics. They also touched on the increasingly debated topic of the use of artificial intelligence within public authorities and the judiciary, as well as the related need for training in this area.<\/p>\n

In the lively discussion that followed, European judges and prosecutors compared the Slovak system with the practices they are familiar with in their own countries. They were interested in how the administrative judiciary functions in Slovakia, asking specific questions about disciplinary proceedings. The discussion also addressed the scope of the Supreme Administrative Court\u2019s agenda and the specialization of judges, public hearings and their frequency, and who represents public authorities before the administrative court. The EJTN is the main platform and promoter of training and knowledge exchange within the European judiciary. In addition to our court, the participants of this year’s exchange stay in Slovakia also visited the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic, the Judicial Academy, the Specialized Criminal Court, the Regional Court in Bratislava, the Remand Prison and Correctional Facility Bratislava, the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic, and the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Slovak Republic.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
