In Paris, Minister of Justice Mária Kolíková met not only with the French Minister of Justice of the Slovak Republic, but also with the Vice-President of the Council of State. The Slovak side was also represented at the meeting with Bruno Lasserre by the Vice-President of the Supreme Administrative Court, Marián Trenčan.

One of the competences of the French Council of State is that of administrative justice. The importance of this institution, which is a kind of equivalent of the Slovak Supreme Administrative Court, has grown considerably over the last ten years. This is due to the increasing desire to protect citizens against decisions taken by public authorities.

“The meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the State Council showed that building an independent judicial institution in the field of administrative justice in Slovakia is extremely important. I am glad that during the meeting we were able to exchange many experiences and I believe that the relations between our institutions will only progress,” said Marián Trenčan, Vice-President of the Supreme Administrative Court, after the meeting at the headquarters of the Council of State in Paris.

During her working visit on Wednesday, Minister of Justice Mária Kolíková and the Slovak delegation also met with representatives of the Tribunal judiciaire de Paris and representatives of La Santé intra muros prison.
