100th anniversary of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Republic of Poland

The host of the celebrations, Jacek Chlebny, President of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Republic of Poland, invited several representatives of the european supreme administrative courts, as well as the Vice-President and First Advocate General of the Court of Justice of the European Union, to Warsaw for the celebrations.

During the ceremony, the President of the Republic of Poland awarded state decorations to former judges and employees of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Republic of Poland. The President of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Republic of Poland also awarded a decoration to Mr Adam Zieliński, who was President of the Court from 1982 to 1992, the time when Poland was transitioning from a communist regime to a democracy.

The assembly also included solemn speeches by the President of the Republic of Poland and the President of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Republic of Poland, as well as speeches by Lars Bay Larsen, Vice-President of the CJEU, and Kari Kuusiniemi, President of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Republic of Finland and Vice-President of the ACA-Europe.

The programme also included a visit to the seat of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Republic of Poland, where the guests present saw not only the Court’s premises, but also the jubilee exhibition, which had been prepared especially on the occasion of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Court’s establishment. The tour of the headquarters was accompanied by a personal meeting with the President of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Republic of Poland and the presentation of ceremonial medals commemorating 100 years since the establishment of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Republic of Poland to the participants of the celebrations.

At the end of the foreign working trip, the President of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic, Pavol Naď, invited the President of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Republic of Poland, Jacek Chlebny, for an official visit, which should take place at the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic in the spring of 2023.

Daniel Staruch, Adviser to the President of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic, was also a participant of the foreign working visit.
