“Administrative courts are responsible for the control of vertical legal relations in our country. It is a very responsible task. I appreciate the presence of the judges of the Constitutional Court, their active participation and their willingness to share knowledge and experience in constitutional control in relation to the administrative judiciary,” said Pavol Naď, President of the Supreme Administrative Court, regarding one of the main benefits of the second year of the event. Constitutional Court Judge Libor Ďula appreciated the immediate, but at the same time constructive working atmosphere of the event. “We believe that joint discussions are helpful to our further work. I also appreciate the feeling of collegiality that this event brings,” he said. “I am glad that we are continuing the cooperation, which is also reflected in our curriculum. I believe that our close contacts will continue,” stated Peter Hulla, Director of the Judicial Academy.
The individual panels, which took place on the first day of the event under the leadership of judges of the Supreme Administrative Court and selected from them under the leadership of the judges of the Constitutional Court, were devoted to four main topics, which are thematically the most numerous in the decision-making activity of administrative courts. These were the issues of taxes, social affairs, administrative punishment and the aliens’ agenda. The panels introduced by the lectures created a space for discussion and exchange of experiences of the participants. On the second day, in addition to the judges of the Supreme Administrative Court, a judge of the Constitutional Court also participated significantly in the professional program, with the main topics being the Administrative Court Code, its current status and considerations de lege ferenda, as well as constitutional views on the right to a fair trial and delays in proceedings.

“The leadership of the Supreme Administrative Court and its Chancellery are very interested in creating a tradition of organizing the Administrative Justice Days annually for all judges of administrative courts in Slovakia. The second year of the most important national event for the Supreme Administrative Court, this time focused on the constitutional aspects of decision-making within the framework of judicial control of public administration, confirmed the viability of this project. This was evident from the immediate reactions of the participating judges during the event. I would like to thank the Judicial Academy and the Ministry of Justice for their helpfulness in organizing it,” concluded Pavol Naď.
