The judge of the Supreme Administrative Court, Katarína Cangárova and judicial assistant Soňa Cigániková, in the beginning, briefly informed participants about the history of administrative justice in Slovakia. Specifically, they focused on establishment of the Supreme Administrative Court and system of lower administrative courts after 2021. They described the composition of the judicial bench of the Supreme Administrative Court, the working methods of judges and their assistants, and mentioned the current developments and anticipated changes expected in the composition of disciplinary panels in 2026.

While talking about case statistics, Katarina Cangárová highlighted a fact, that in its initial period, the Court took over approximately two thousand cases from the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic, with about 700 cases currently pending decision, most of which have been filed only in recent years. She added that judges are trying to reduce the duration of proceedings to between six months and one year.

After a basic familiarization with the objectives and work of this Court, an informal discussion followed concerning its jurisdiction and practical activities. The students showed interest in electoral disputes under court’s jurisdiction, as well as the duration of proceedings and disciplinary processes specifically related to delays in judicial proceedings.
