Judges and prosecutors from the Slovak Republic visited several European institutions

On the opening day of the internship, the Slovak delegation of several members met with the European Public Prosecutor for Slovakia, JUDr. Juraj Novocký, PhD. At the headquarters of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, they discussed the activities and scope of the Office, as well as the system of registering files and maintaining an electronic registry. In Luxembourg, the trainees also participated in a hearing before the Court of Justice of the European Union (Appeal – Dumping – Imports of certain cast iron products originating in the People’s Republic of China and India – Imposition of definitive anti-dumping duties and definitive collection of duties). They were later received by the Judge of the General Court of the European Union, Beatrix Ricziová, PhD.

In Strasbourg, the Slovak delegation of judges and prosecutors visited the European Court of Human Rights, where they met with the Slovak Judge of the European Court of Human Rights, JUDr. Alena Poláčková. On the final day, the participants also visited the Council of the European Union, where they attended a conference on the role of the Slovak Judicial Academy in the European political environment.

The five-day internship was organised by the Judicial Academy of the Slovak Republic within the framework of the project Development of the system of specialised education of judges and judicial staff (Operational Programme Effective Public Administration).
