Meeting with the President of the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic on the specifics of adjudication of delays in court proceedings
On 11 June 2025, the President of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic, Pavol Naď, visited the Constitutional Court in Košice and on this occasion met with its President, Ivan Fiačan.
The subject of the discussion was the competence of the Constitutional Court to decide on delays in proceedings before general courts. According to the envisaged change in the legislation, this competence would be transferred to several courts, with the Supreme Administrative Court having jurisdiction over administrative courts. “President Fiačan presented me with the specifics of the decision-making in the given agenda, as well as statistical data concerning such proceedings against the three administrative courts,” commented Pavol Naď.
The meeting also included a summary of information concerning the Supreme Administrative Court’s decision-making to date, starting in 2021, in cassation, disciplinary and electoral cases. Subsequently, the Presidents discussed the legally concluded proceedings of the Constitutional Court, the subject of which was the review of the decisions of the Supreme Administrative Court.
The Presidents also discussed the preparation of the second annual event organised by the local court called “Days of Administrative Justice”, which is scheduled for 18-19 September 2025. The event will also focus on the constitutional aspects of the decision-making of administrative courts and the Supreme Administrative Court.
