The Disciplinary panel imposes the most severe disciplinary measure on a judge of the Regional Court in Košice
“Despite being prohibited from being under the influence of alcohol in the workplace and performing the function of a judge while under the influence of alcohol during working hours, the disciplinary defendant was found to have a blood alcohol percentage by breath test on August 25, 2022, i.e., she was performing the function of a judge while under the influence of alcohol during working hours. By her actions, the disciplinary defendant committed a serious disciplinary offence incompatible with the office of a judge,” said Viola Takáčová, President of the Panel, during Tuesday’s hearing.
An appeal against the decision of the disciplinary panel is admissible and can be lodged within 15 days from the date of delivery of the disciplinary decision. If this happens, the appeal will be decided by the Disciplinary appeallate panel of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic.
