The official programme of the Polish delegation in Slovakia lasted two days. It consisted not only of negotiations, but also, for example, of a tour of the Slovak National Gallery, which was jointly visited by representatives of the Slovak and Polish Supreme Administrative Courts. The topics of the joint negotiations were mainly the exchange of experience in the field of assigning legal cases to judges with regard to their specialisation. During the meeting, the representatives also discussed the impact of the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of Justice of the European Union on the decision-making activities of both Supreme Administrative Courts. However, during the meeting, they also outlined a topic concerning the current challenges in asylum and extradition decision-making.
“The Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic, as a new top institution of the administrative justice system, is very interested in the international exchange of experience. The century-long history of the existence of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Republic of Poland is a great value given by the amount of accumulated knowledge about the successes and challenges of the judicial control of public administration in Poland. The strength of the personality of the President of the Court, Jacek Chlebny, as well as of the judges of this Court, is at the same time a guarantee of high professionalism and impartiality of decision-making,“ said the President of the Court, Pavol Naď. He added that it was an important working meeting for the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic. “We presented ourselves as a worthy partner in the discussions concerning the exercise of administrative justice in the European legal area.”
The Slovak delegation consisted of the President of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic Pavol Naď, the Vice-President of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic Marián Trenčan, the President of the Panel of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic Elena Berthotyová, the Adviser to the President of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic Daniel Staruch and the International Relations and Protocol Specialist Alica Smolíčková from the Chancellery of the President of the Supreme Administrative Court.
