International Association of Supreme Administrative Jurisdictions

International Association of Supreme Administrative Jurisdictions

Founded in 1983, the Association brings together more than 100 supreme administrative courts from all continents of the world. Its aim is to promote cooperation in the field of legal issues falling within the adjudicatory activity of administrative courts of last instance and to exchange knowledge and experience in judicial practice. Taking into account the diversity of legal cultures, the courts associated in the Association strive to overcome legal barriers by comparative study of the different legal systems and by joint discussions on similar and also different legal institutions of the different legal systems. The Association publishes a collection of the most important decisions of the courts of the member countries on selected topics, which is a valuable tool for comparison and analysis and thus contributes to the global knowledge of administrative law.

The IASAJ Conference is held regularly every three years, always on a specific specialist topic, for which each Member State compiles relevant information (answers to questions based on a questionnaire), from which a summary report is compiled and discussed. IASAJ conferences also organise workshops/workshops on a specific professional issue. Information is available on the website. Since 2021, the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic has joined the Association and is fully involved in all activities, including international judicial exchange programmes.
