Superior Courts Network

The Superior Courts Network was officially launched under the auspices of the European Court of Human Rights on 5 October 2015. The Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic applied for membership in October 2021 and in a short time became the 96th member of the Network.

The main objective of this grouping is to deepen the dialogue between the Strasbourg Court and the national supreme courts through the exchange of knowledge and information on the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and related issues.

The relevant forms of cooperation are implemented through the Intranet platform, which provides access to a variety of useful documents such as weekly summaries of relevant case law of the European Court of Human Rights, analytical outputs on selected decisions or materials focusing on a specific topic.

The Network’s internal platform also contains comparative studies with knowledge on the national law of the Member States, to which the European Court of Human Rights refers in particular in the judgments of the Grand Chamber.

The Supreme Administrative Court actively participates in the preparation of contributions to the comparative studies as well as in other activities resulting from its membership in the Superior Courts Network.
